Chammika Jayawardana

Education
Chammika Jayawardana is a visual artist. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Visual and Performing Arts,
Colombo and has completed a four year certificate course at the Vibhavi Academy of Fine Arts.
Work Experience
He worked as a lecturer and a deputy director at the same institute from 2007 to 2011.
He is currently a visiting lecturer at the faculty of Architecture, University of Moratuwa, Colombo,
Sri Lanka and the University of Colombo, Sri Palee Campus. MA in Archaeology at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka.

He has held one solo exhibition in Sri Lanka and Participated in 33 group exhibitions since 1998.These include,

Chammika has also participated in international exhibitions in the India Art Gallery, Pune, 2006 and the Museum of Ethnology,Vienna,2008,He has worked as an art director in two films," Nimnayaka Hudakalawa" directed by Boodi Keethisena and "Train to Kandy" directed by Udana Fonseka,and has also worked as an art director in 48 commercials.
He has participated in person in the South Asian international art programme held in Tokyo 2004.
Although his favorite subjects were landscapes and draperies, most of his work was related to anti-war and peace themes.
